Bomba Y Plena dance and music is deep rooted in the culture of Puerto Rico. The music and dance are a mix of African, Spanish and Taino rhythms and dance. Bomba is the more African sound and Plena is the more Spaniard sound to keep it simple. When you mix these two together you have blend of African dance and rhythm with Spaniard sound and movement. The balance of these cultures within this music creates sounds and dance that are graceful yet hard at the same time. There is a strong history behind the music and dance that helped the people of Puerto Rico survive oppression and plan revolts against the colonizers. The strength of our culture lies within this music. will send you an Mp3 via email in a sec. I will be working on a short dance video to post on Urban Arts in the next week!

Well U.R.K stands for Urban Rebel Krew and what we are trying to do here is network and get teens involved in something else beside whats given to them, how are we doing that? well by first trying to make a U.R.K a name people can trust. we work with a wide range of different artist to be able to produce a wide range of products such as urban vinyl toys, shirts, hats, skatedecks and mixtapes with a wide range of music from rock to rap we are all about making change here. We want to raise money so we can invest in the communites we come from and hopefully make it a little better for the next of kin. U.R.K is a company for any and everybody remember we are all brothers and sisters not because we are the same but because we lack the same color and that my friends is green.
