- "Early in life I didn’t know what I had to say, but I felt the importance of being heard and always wanted the same for those around me." Those words describe the essence of Sahar Parirokh, Founder of Freedom Star.
Playing "office" and launching a baby-sitting company by the age of 13 was an early sign that Sahar Parirokh was destined to be an entrepreneur. During her final years of high school, Sahar worked in the retail industry, quickly rising to positions of management. Her eagerness to understand the many facets that make any brand’s mission materialize was awakened. The first steps were into the realm of corporate banking which eventually relocated her from Colorado to Florida.
Determined to learn more and truly find her niche, Sahar relocated to New York City, where she knit herself into the rich education, culture, and opportunity that only an island like Manhattan can offer. Unveiling Freedom Star presented new curiosities which motivated Sahar to enroll in LIM College where she intertwined Fashion Marketing courses with re-branding the school paper as Editor-in-Chief.
In January of 2005, Freedom Star Accessories was launched as a line of hand-made scarves. Exploring her passion for connecting with others while refining her knowledge of starting a business ushered in the beginning of Freedom Star Consulting in 2007. Sahar’s purpose is to make the vision of any business a feasible reality by sharing first-hand knowledge of independently starting a business on a small budget.
Committed to igniting an entrepreneurial spirit in young adults, Freedom Star is set to initiate a mentorship service in 2010. With an ultimate goal of bringing to life a community center, Freedom Star and its Founder will offer youth and women an incubator for their dreams.
